Hazbin Hotel's Creator Has Seen Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been intense.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of characters living within the afterlife, sets them at odds with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people make a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
