Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of characters who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might look mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then settled his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and advises that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the group enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them little choice but to head to the remote area in quest for the traitor.
What’s Next?
