Area Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Cars, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The substance had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Officers then located numerous other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials say early analysis show the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; authorities are presently not informed of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they commented.
Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the community for information.
A senior political figure said the attack made him without words and required to be addressed quickly.
"This act affects the core of Hanau and revives the wounds of the extremist violent incident five years ago," he stated on online, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
